San Antonio Advice

Looking to make a trip to SA next month. Any suggestions, regarding places to go or avoid while carrying?

Also, anyone know if Inner Space and Natural Bridge allow carry?

Aside from the Alamo, what are the best missions to check out?

It's pretty easy to check out all the San Antonio missions. They basically follow the river south from the Alamo and you can visit all of them in a (short) afternoon. You'll find more info here. http://www.nps.gov/saan/index.htm. As far as carry goes, I haven't received my CHL yet but I am trying to be more aware of this. In general I think San Antonio is pretty CHL friendly. Others on this forum will likely have more specific info. I hope you enjoy our town.

Mission San Jose Is my favorite of the missions on the mission trail. It is still a working parish, and that's where I married my beautiful wife!

the missions are federal property you can't carry there, but you still should go see them they are an important part of our history.

Is San Jose the one with the aquaduct and water mill? I was facinated by both of those.

Actually, you can carry there as they are National Parks. However, you have to follow the guidelines for the National Park. Federal law prohibits firearms in certain facilities in parks (such as visitor centers, government offices, etc.); those places should be marked with signs at all public entrances. Buildings are usually going to be off limits, so that is the run on missions.

Be careful regarding pocket knives while there too - San Antonio has some squirrelly city ordinances about them.

What are the details on knives and San Antonio? - don't recall, (don't go there, so I've not made an attempt to remember) but I'm certain some somebody here will post details.

You can check www.texas3006.com but I think the Alamo is good to go.

The Alamo is owned by the state of Texas, so it cannot be posted.

These have also been put to rest. The state has ruled that the city must follow state guidelines.
