I'm in the middle of renewal... last week the status online was pending background review and photo/fingerprints were "on file" and "not required." I just checked again to see if I had been processed and it now shows fingerprints "under review."

Does this mean they will require me to resubmit them? I was good last review and my original application. The only thing I can imagine is that they want them electronically now.

Anyone else had this happen before? If so what did they end up doing?

Let me know what happen. I applied for my chl and this is on my status also, not too sure what it means.

I'm doing an initial and mine are under review as well. When I called 1.5 weeks ago, the lady said that they will be assigned a tech for further review. I still don't know if they will be accepted or not. I asked her why they need further review. She didn't know my particular case but said there are a couple reasons: smudges, nicks or scratches on fingers, not clear, ridges that touch that shouldn't....

I called this morning and the lady on the phone said it was nothing to worry about. Dps will contact you via certified mail if anything else is needed

Mine were under review during renewal. Turned out to be no problem.

Maybe because the originals were done with ink and not the electronic fingerprints? I'm wondering if they're going to make us get the electronic ones done now.
