My First LEO since CHL

Well, had my first experience with a LEO while carrying this morning. I was hit by a lady who went straight in a turn-only lane. No damage to my vehicle; minor fender damage to her car.
Precinct 4 Constable (Harris County) arrived and when asked for TDL and INS produced TDL with CHL below it (slightly showing) and proof of insurance card below that. Which is how all three are carried in my wallet.
He saw the CHL and asked, "Are you armed?"; I said, "Yes sir", to which he asked "Where is it?". I told him, "Right hand side.", and he said "Then just leave it there." and handed back the CHL.
He then proceeded to do his normal accident report work; the CHL, etc. never came up again.
I've only had the very best experiences from our Precinct 4 guys.

I have had similar experiences here in Comal County with the Sheriff Deptartment (several times). They really are cool about it.

These encounter tend to go fairly well considering...But this always gets me...

What else would I do...
Sorry, my sarcasm levels are a bit high today for some reason...
Any wreck you can walk away from is a good one...Right???

A pity you didn't total hers. That's my pet peeve is people going straight in forced turn lanes, just to get ahead of the pack. I sure hope she got cited for it.

I'm with Stevie here. What was he expecting?
I'd have said, "I intend to, sir." in a rather condescending tone. If I'm carrying, I am very polite and do my best to obey the law(ok I do this even when not carrying, which isn't often, but you get my point).
We are a polite and good group of people. Yet we are presumed by
some with authority that we are a poke away from clearing leather and sweeping the alley. I just don't get it sometimes.

Well, in the LEO's defense, they see all kinds of behaviour out there, particulary from people who might be a bit rattled from a wreck. The last thing he needs is to see you out of the corner of his eye taking your gun out so you can get at your cellphone, for example. He's already assumed you're a solid citizen since you qualified for a CHL.
I have acquired a habit since I started carrying, of walking or stand, ing with my right hand in my pocket, thumb out fingers touching the grips of my P3AT. this is my normal posture, partly because the hand obscures what little printing there might be. If you don't know I'm carrying it's unnoticable.
But if I just told a LEO working an accident that I am carrying "right front pocket", then a few minutes later I forget and revert to my normal posture, that would make any LEO go on High Alert.

It could be that the LEO has seen other CHLs anxious to take it out an show him or anticipating that he will want to. There are many posts in here where LEOs ask them to look at it. Some even display it without being asked. Maybe he was just assuring you that he didn't want to look at it.
Unless it was an aggravated tone, I wouldn't worry about it.
Personally, I've never had a reason to show my CHL to a LEO, So I can't speak from experience.

You would not say that. I know better of you.
I don't think officers are assuming anything. When they ask you where the weapon is and you answer, some response is appropriate. Why not, "just leave it there"?
It tells you he does not want to see it OR take it. Succinct and efficient.

Nothing's wrong with those things; he said what he said...just because he didn't reply with exactly what you would want him to say doesn't mean he's harrassing you!
Other things he could have said maybe better, maybe worse...
"That's fine, thanks"
"Here's your ticket please show up to court on the date specified..."
"Leave it at home next time"
"Oooh, can I touch it?!?!"
"I'm wearing pink panties!"
