Came out unarmed to investigate noises in the garage confronted by 3 armed teenagers, they demanded his keys to car, he ran back towards house and was shot and killed.
Two of the three juveniles were later caught after a police car chase.
Just because they are kids does not mean they are not deadly.

"finished him off" with two more shots.
Neighbors said a real nice guy, caring for his sick mother.
RIP

Hmm...I wonder if the garage door was open, or if perhaps it was a carport? Going outside to investigate noises, rather than call 911, is never a good idea these days...especially unarmed. Stay behind a locked door, inside the house, if at all possible. I feel for the family. RIP.

Another case of do you want to go out armed or unarmed? I would NOT go out and investigate unarmed. Even armed there were 3 of them so odds were not good. I responded to a car burg once where car owner went out unarmed. The 17 year old suspect stabbed him to death. Very bloody and nasty. All over a $50 car stereo. I can't say how many guns and knives I have pulled off "car burglars." They will fight, stab and shoot leo's so you can be sure some won't hesitate for a home owner. If you have insurance, sometimes it's best to think before rushing out. I know that is hard to do, but something to think about.

A Houston radio personality has died from a beating he received at the hands of robbers who attacked him in his home. Rick Roberts who was popular in the '60's was 71. RIP.

Woman did not die. Tied up, pistol whipped and sprayed with Mace in home invasion. Doesn't want to talk about it, afraid they will come back.
I guess we have a suggestion for her.

Business owner rather than homeowner, but ended up the same - dead.

Apparently a nice young lady was killed by men who attempted to car jack her (or do other bad things)
The black SUV driven by the BG may have had a "police package" and this is why she stopped her car while driving home.
RIP

FYI - A Chevrolet Tahoe that has the police package has a badge which reads "Chevy Defender" on the left side of the tailgate.
Not that this fact would have helped this gal. It's just something for the rest of us to confirm a LEO if we are behind one.

Because only LEO can own one just like LEO can only own Crown Victoria Police Interceptors.
Right.

I have firmly decided that I will not pull over for an under cover without first verifying with dispatch. I'll slow down, move to far right lane with hazards on but I won't stop. I'll call 911 and verify first. Any suggestions LEO's. and I know that me doing this pretty much garantees me a ticket.

I have decided the same thing.
Not many foolish fake cops are gonna try and pull me over cause I don't sport flowing locks or long eyelashes. Regardless, I don't like the current trend of unmarked vehicles making traffic stops.
I'll take the ticket and the tongue lashing.
I got a good traffic ticket attorney anyway.

Or....armed homeowner went into garage to investigate noises...confronted by 2 armed police officers....homeowner shot and killed in his own garage because he
WAS armed. Kind of a "Catch 22" situation....
