Don't they still have that silly restriction in NY?
I must be too dim to understand why 17, 15, or even 12 rounds is so much scarier.

With all the blood baths that are happening in the streets because of all the AK-47's that were in the bellies of ships off the coast just waiting for the first ban to expire I can understand!!!! We must stop the violence caused by these wands of death!!!!!
What is that, OH, they have not caused crime to go up, have not been used to kill school kids by the bushell?? They have not been sold on the docks by the thousands?? Oh, hell.
Well screw it, we'll make a law anyway.
I'm tired of these [abbreviated profanity deleted.]!!

It surprises me that you would say something like that. They keep telling us that these laws are supported by ALL law enforcement. Are you not being a good cop?

I admit it, I'm out of hand, a rouge cop.
Refer to my other post about how irritated I get when people use LEO's to further their cause. None of these morons asked me about what I think.
Like I said earlier, if they want us safer, they could pay for us to go the TRanch, Gunsite, etc... and quit wasting money on an anti-gun agenda.
On that topic, anyone want to sponsor a certain officer on this board (me) to go to TRanch????
LOL, could not pass that up.

Frontsite has a video of an older couple that donates a few Frontsight training sessions to their local LEO's every year.
First year the LEO's were skeptical and a little unsure. Second year they were falling over eachother to get the chance to go. :)
Sounds like a great way to donate to the local PD.

I wrote a personal letter to Ms. McCarthy after one of her diatribes, and CCed the NY papers. Her husband and son were in the Colin Furgeson attack on the Long Island train and she persists in blaming the gun.
I attempted to point out that the attacker that destroyed her family reloaded several times, so that her ban on so called high capacity magazines would have changed nothing. I also pointed out that one lone armed civilian could have saved lots of people (even Bernhard Goetz.)
All I got back was the standars congressional form letter..."We thank you for your interest and can assure you that Rep. McCarthy is doing everything she can to...(rid the world of the scourge of guns.)
My letter didn't get published there.

In 2000, the New York State legislature passed (and RINO Governor George Pataki signed) a state AWB that simply mirrored the 1994 federal AWB (including grandfathering pre-13Sept1994 "assault weapons"), but without an expiry date.
This year, the same people in the NYS legislature have been attempting to pass an even stricter state AWB. (One "evil" feature and a detachable magazine = "assault weapon".) Owners of AWs would be required to either 1) render them unusable; 2) surrender them to the state police; or 3) register them, get them ballistically "fingerprinted" and get a permit to own them.
These members of the NYS legislature seem to delight in making law-abiding gunowners feel unwelcome. And this is before we start talking about Babylon-on-the-Hudson (ie, NYC).
A word to the wise: in 2008, do not trust ANY Republicrat politician from (or representing) New York State.
