Texas Sen. and Tea Party favorite Ted Cruz is reportedly planning a White House bid in 2016. But has his Canadian background already dashed his hopes?

Cruz will not have any problems with his birthright.
I bet he can even produce a birth certificate for you. Certificate of foreign birth... to American parent.
I bet he's never claimed to be a foreign student in order to gain entry into Princeton.... Unlike my bet that Obama DID claim foreign student status to get into Harvard and get financial aid. Too bad those transcripts and applications are sealed... I wonder why?

If someone from Kenya can do it, why not someone from Canada?

Not to sound like a grammar Nazi, but shouldn't that be, "why not someone from Canada, eh?" "rlol" Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Seriously, I'm not 100% sure I would vote for him, but he definitely has my undivided attention.

As long as Ted Cruz has a document which I believe is called "Consular Report of Birth Abroad", he is good to go. Two of my kids have those, as they were born in the UK, and that is their birth certificate. It was good enough for my son to join the USAF.

:iagree: I think I'd like to see a Cruz/Paul ticket, but I don't know either candidate well enough yet to be certain.

Ted Cruz appears to have a sparkling future, and I admire him greatly, but the last time we elected as President a fellow who was in his first Senate term, it caused some anxieties.

I'm not sure being a Senator is a good stepping stone to the Presidency. Obama, Nixon, Johnson, Kennedy and Truman were Senators. Jackson, Pierce, Harrison and Harding were also Senators. Being a Senator warps your view of reality in some ways, a vast subsidized ego trip. I prefer Governors, like Coolidge, GW Bush. Of course, FDR, Clinton and Wilson were Governors. Hmmmm.

At least Governors have to exhibit some executive ability to be successful. While I may not care for the political ideology of some of the Governors who have held the Presidency, nor care for the end result of their administrations, at least they were leaders. Not so the oily, false bonhomie, political slickness of the majority of those who serve in the Senate.

Best I can figure, they want to vote for a Democrat without having to admit they voted Democrat.
