I feel like Frodo who is holding the unbearable "Precious".



Since this Precious came into my possession I have the unbearable desire, to open the gun safe and:
1) have a peek
2) touch it
3) holster it
4) have a sight-picture
5) dry fire it
6) practice a draw from Serpa holster
7) Lay back and smoke my Hooka! (Cuban Cigar works as well)


I guess this 1911 has a powerful curse

Nice....very Nice! I can only afford a Sig Sauer hat, but I get a lot of compliments on it! Looking forward to the range report. You are going to shoot your "Precious" aren't you?

My first trip to an indoor range with SIG STX and I limited myself to 100 rds and shooting distances from 7 to 10 yrds.

In short, since this is the first 1911 I shoot with slick single action trigger and single-stack grip, I quickly realized that point of impact are consistently left and low. So, I had to adjust the placement of my trigger-finger from the mid of the first section to the first joint. And. Voila, my shots are within 1" of the bullseye.

As for the trigger, it still had like couple to few millimeters of uptake, a surprise for me as I expected the trigger to be like my lovely Tika T3, trigger solid bang with no freeplay. Ah, I think the trigger on this STX is also not light and I am not sure what are the spec on the trigger weight but it felt like 3-4 lbs. Now, the STX has an adjustable trigger, however, I have no clue how it works and how to adjust it with out making a mess.

I used brass 230 Gr FMJ (Federal) bullets and all functioned flawlessly with no issue at all.

The hammer just screams - Carabiner.. Then you could carry it around easier.
