Won't carry a CHL badge? How about a sticker?

Came across this tonight and thought it was interesting.

They are offering a blue striped reflective sticker that will identify you to an officer as a CHL holder. They sell for $20.

Unless it's issued by the state, then anyone can buy it, therefore LE should not trust them.

Your thought on this different idea vs. a CHL badge?

Now I need to do some research. That study sounds very interesting, especially the results. It does not seem to match the real world statistics unless off duty/plain clothes officers do not get involved in cases nearly as often as is thought.

Which is what gets to my next point. So far, the problem of good guys getting shot is a very very small problem. And the cases where it has happened do not seem like the identification of the CHL as a CHL would have made a difference (Las Vegas comes to mind here).

It feels to me like the situations we hear about you wouldn't have time to deploy this and if you would have time then you are normally ok without it. Then again it's just a reflector and ID case so it's not a big deal anyway. If it makes you feel better then go for it.

My thought is it is the same. I do not want anyone knowing I am armed. If I come in contact with LEO I have a CHL to hand them. :tiphat:

:iagree: No real difference between a badge or any other identifier. LEO wants to chat with me then I will hand over my CHL, besides the officer probably knows about my CHL status before exiting his/her unit.

No different than a badge in my book :totap: . Just gives BG's something to shoot at :waiting:

So what happens when you make a quick move to drop the flap on that little holster looking leather flap? I believe you may be the next contestant on the "I thought he was going for a gun" show. Then you win a lovely vacation in the nearest trauma center..if you're really lucky.

Unnecessary - Ego stroker aimed at those who just can't bear to remain anonymous.

Marketers know they exist...

I would prefer that no one knew that I was carrying, that's the beauty in concealed carry. If approached by law enforcement, like a previous poster indicated, they probably already know that I am a CHL carrier (if driving).

Apparently I didn't get the memo as I have never heard of this color scheme equating to a chl holder. The photo showing the guy holding something that is not recognizable is a joke. If there was a shooting and the person is holding something that is reflecting, one should be concerned that somebody might think it is a weapon reflecting the light.

The best thing in that pouch is the card advising one to shut their mouth and wait for their attorney.
