Hmm...the discharge wasn't an "accident". He was handling the firearm and it went off. That is a negligent discharge. The article doesn't say if he had a holster for it, but I would venture a no.

I found this interesting..
We do not allow alcohol, drugs, firearms or weapons on our buses. If we discover a customer is breaking company policy, we call the police immediately
So, does that mean that the Greyhound terminals are posted 30.06 or that you are given written 30.06 notification when purchasing a ticket or verbal notification somehow? Article doesn't say....

Just one more reason to not ride a bus if possible.

That is the reason the title to the post says "ND" not "AD"

I'm not sure how this guys pockets fit, or what his body shape is, but I find it hard to believe the gun was in a position to completly miss his leg or some other body part. I wear normal clothes (not tight, not baggy), and I don't know how I'd escape without a bullet to the leg. I'm sure it can happen and someone here will come up with a good explanation, but this guy is lucky he took a ride in a cop car instead of an ambulance.

You can bet Greyhound and other transportation companies will tighten up security.

From the news reports sounds like the bus terminal is like the airport, you have to go through metal detectors to enter the facility.

They were not sure how he got through the screening.

We really do not need help like this.
