The above link contains a news video regarding the death.
Mr. Ratliff was the producer of the videos. He is not the man who affects the Russian accent and fires the guns
in the videos.
FPS Russia is one of the top 10 Youtube channels. FPS = First Person Shooter, a video game term.

Heck, as a matter of fact I did NOT realize that. It popped onto my radar the other day
and I noted the January nn date, but not the "2013" part. My bad. :-)
OTOH: Maybe the news source wasn't in the groove with the new year and just absent-mindedly
dated it 2013?

Nope, it was 2013. I found a July 2013 article where they stated that production of the videos would soon resume. Talked about the producers death in Jan.
