Where did the thread about the thugs beating the hippies go?

I was following it to see if the thugs were ever caught and see how others would react to witnessing such a travesty. Was it moved to a different forum?

While the video is useful for understanding the dynamics of how incidents like the one depicted in it play out, the language is obviously an issue and the use of a link to LiveLeak is an unquestionable rule violation. This presents a conflict between potential content value and the type of environment we want to maintain in our Forum.

The thread was moved to the Moderator's Forum for discussion.

Mods spend a lot of time and effort figuring out what to do about situations like this, but for now posting that video is a clear rule violation. That's why it's gone.

I deleted Texanjoker's post with the link in this thread for the same reason.

Well I got my answer. I didn't intend to start up a controversial thread. I had no idea about the liveleak and had my volume muted so didn't hear the language y'all are talking about. If you want to close this thread so it doesn't become a problem, it won't hurt my feelings. I had thought maybe it was moved somewhere. My real deal was wanting to read how others would have responded to that situation.

I just saw wildbill post. Language doesn't bother me so much but I would prefer porn not end up on my computer. I think I get it now.

I wondered myself. If I were armed and walking by it would be hard not to intervene. But the situation could turn bad real fast. Even though the "hippies" were outnumbered they did a credible job of defending themselves. If the thugs used any kind of weapons, it would have been many times worse.

Everything about me would have wanted to intervene. I am no hero but that kind of attack brings out animal instincts in me that I have had trouble controlling in the past. Getting involved in that might have been getting more than I bargained for. I might have been facing down multiple attackers from every direction. I am not Bruce Lee.

You can hit delete but that crap is still hanging on your hard drive. I have no desire for a forensic study to show up some kind of sick twisted garbage for a cop to send me to jail with. Some of that stuff puts cookies on your system that you don't want others to think you are indulging in. Can you imagine your better half finding a link to teen porn on your system somewhere? It hides all over it. No thanks. I will stick with people thinking I am a gun nut who likes drag racing and hot rod cars.

This one appears to be well within Forum rules, but doesn't show how the incident develops and progresses from beginning to end. That's seldom captured on videos most folks have access to.

One important reality both versions capture is that when a victim goes down, the attackers close in to kick and strike from multiple angles. This is when the most severe damage is often inflicted.

Unfortunately even the original full length video doesn't show enough of the pre incident footage to let us determine if the two "victims" were passersby, members of the group who said or did something unsanctioned, or sellers or customers in a deal that didn't go well.
