Intense, yup.
The officer firing the AR shoots through the front windshield while moving and then has to reload and shoots more after they stop. And that was just one guy's camera.

I suspect the dash cams would show more. Have they been released?

Is this kind of policy the norm for police officers? I suppose I always thought if they were wounded in the line of duty they kept receiving all their pay and benefits. This seems real wrong to me.

A friend of mine in the Dallas PD has described things like this. They will only give them the cheapest coverage they have to, deny coverage of as many things as possible, and charge as much as possible to cover family members. From what I remember, most DPD officers get coverage for their families from an outside insurance agency like BCBS.

That is just wrong on so many levels.

I have no idea if it is because Dallas is ruled by liberals or what, but maybe Big D is headed down the road to Detroit.

It varies where you work. Some will get a medical pension, although a huge cut in pay and medical paid for, other places just get fired and fight for SSI or some where in between. LEOS get disabled all the time and cannot perform their regular job. There are many LEO's that are disabled that could work at some job, yet they are forced out if they cannot meet the full duty job description. This needs to change! There needs to be standards nationwide since many leo's are critically injured on duty and cannot return to work. My 2 cents

I agree. I bet most people have no idea an officer and the family is left swinging in the breeze like that.
