I did. She covered the subject well, with several guest experts on the subject. Different kinds of attacks are possible on power supply and transmission. It will/would be a daunting task to secure the grid.

Iran is now running a warship off our coast. They also have limited missile capability. If they could fire a missile from their warship, the emp could affect most of the East Coast.

Yeah, that would be a strategic failure.

You forget a couple of things. First the leadership in Iran has an apocalyptic point of view. Thus our relaliatory ability may not be a deterent. Second, Obama has been slowly destroying our nukes. While we still have enought left, will we by the end of his term? Third, while Iran may be glass, 10s of millions will die of starvation on our East coast because the EMP would reduce the East Coast to the stone age.

I also just saw a report that a North Korean freighter was discovered intercepted in Panama last year with nuclear capable surface to air missiles. If NK could launch out of the Caribean, that could send most of the South into the stone age.
