Based upon the brief description, it appears the shooting was justified and apparently the police agree. I want to point out that you are by no means guaranteed of being arrested if you justifiably use deadly force, contrary to what some folks with an agenda may claim.

Good thing they were prepared and willing to follow through with defending themselves and the lady.
