I submitted my all of my paperwork 12/27/13 and still have not received my license. The status update has been saying Waiting on Background check for 4 months. Has anyone else had a wait time like this??

Welcome to the forum. I would call them (DPS) and see what the issue is. You should have received a letter in the mail by now explaining what the issue is. If they don't satisfy you on the phone I would contact my State Rep. You are well past due.

Thank you for the welcome and advice I am waiting on a callback to see what the deal is. I'm kind of wondering if it has to do with me and my brothers ss# are only 1 number different and our names are one letter different. (Justin,Austin)

Just got a call back and they said it should have been done a good while ago, and I should either receive my license in the mail or a letter telling me what the problem is in the next 2 weeks. I guess I have waited 7 months already, whats another 2 weeks

Glad to hear you got some encouraging news. If it was me I would give them a chance to make it right but stay after them. The squeaky wheel does get the oil. I wouldn't be rude but firm. If they get to a point where it stalls feel free to contact your Senator or State Representative. That seems to move them

Talked with my State Rep Office today and they said that they would call and they said, " A phone call from us and it will be shaken loose!" Said that the DPS has out sourced the chl process to a third party contractor and that they were not happy with the service they were receiving.
