Used his gun without firing it. Glad there are still some willing to help another in need.

As for the licensee good guy, big thumbs up for getting involved. However, mixed feelings here.
I wish the licensee had just shot the robber down like a rabid dog. If the robber is 50 years old and still stabbing and robbing people, then another short stint in the gray bar motel isn't changing anything and he will be a continuing threat to society. Put him down.
On the other hand, what if the robber was almost ready to turn his life around, and become a professional musician, and become an Honor Student, and obtain his GED, and be a father to all his children by all his baby mama's, and become a Community Organizer, and be an asset to his neighborhood? Getting shot would put a stop to all that progress. After all, shouldn't we try to look for the potential in people?

Yeah, who knows, he maybe could have been the next felon in the Oval Office.

But until the laws change to "innocent until proven guilty", it's too expensive (for the good guy) to put the dog down.

The objective is to stop the threat. Not be executioner or exterminator.

Guess I forgot to insert the [sarcasm] tags.
