Weapons are banned at the mall, whose code of conduct specifically prohibits "Carrying or displaying weapons of any kind except those carried by certified law enforcement officers in the performance of their duties."

The mall, which is owned and managed by CBL & Associates Properties Inc., of Chattanooga, Tennessee

I don't go to malls very often, maybe once every other year or so. But I do not go to one that posts 30.06

One more good reason to shop online for everything!

“No Firearm” signs in Pennsylvania have no force of law unless they are posted on property that is specifically mentioned in State Law as being off limits to those with a Permit/License to Carry (private businesses such as shopping malls are not off limits per statute).

If you are in a place not specifically mentioned in the law that is posted and they ask you to leave, you must leave. If you refuse to leave then you are breaking the law and can be charged.

Switching back to the news story, the "no firearms" signs points to a double level of stupidity on the part of CBL & Associates Properties Inc. First, the 17 year old who was carrying illegally and shooting people was obviously not deterred by the sign. It is evident such signs do not deter criminals. Second, the signs have no force of law for people carrying legally, so the signs are also worthless for that scenario as well.

So basically, it seems the signs are posted merely to provide the sheeple with reassurance that the property manager "cares" and wants them to "feel safe", but have absolutely zero utility or effectiveness. Sounds like liberalism . . .
