Some reports are showing the shooter was a liberal atheist, but have not confirmed yet.
All the victims were Muslim and shot with a single bullet to the head.
RIP

Based on how I read the article, seems to me that there is a lot of jumping on the "this was an act of hatred towards Muslims" bandwagon but I can't recall where there was such a furor against the multitude of "this was an act of hatred towards Christian" killings. The media and prog types keep telling us that Muslims killing Christians can't be hate.

Described himself as a gun loving liberal.
Atheist
Sounds like he walked around with his gun exposed in his waist band.

A review of the Facebook page of the man charged in these murders, Craig Hicks, shows a consistent theme of anti-religion and progressive causes. Included in his many Facebook “likes” are the Huffington Post, Rachel Maddow, the Southern Poverty Law Center, Freedom from Religion Foundation, Bill Nye “The Science Guy,” Neil deGrasse Tyson, gay marriage groups, and a host of anti-conservative/Tea Party pages.
Remarkably, one of the four Facebook groups he had joined was “Religious Tolerance.”

Personally, I don't care what his religious or non-religious preferences were. And I don't care if he was pro-gun or anti-gun. I don't care if he was a Democrat or a Republican.
Why anyone would care is beyond me. I care about what his actions were and what choices he made.

To assign guilt by assocation.

It's an exercise in illustrating ridiculousness by being ridiculous. How many times have we been told that a shooter/bomber MUST be a right-wing, Republican, Christian, conservative, Constitutionalist, anti-Muslim, anti-government, racist, bigoted, narrow-minded, politically-motivated white male? A few incidents pop to mind as examples, among them the crazed man who shot former representative Gabby Giffords and several other people, the Time Square Bomber, the DC "snipers," and several more. Each time motivations were assigned to the murderers that conveniently associated them with someone's, usually a liberal's or liberal "interest group's" enemies, in an attempt to discredit said enemies and taint them by contrived association. And each time, the contrived association turned out to be completely false; the Arizona shooter was quite literally insane, the Time Square Bomber was attempting jihad and couldn't care less about obamacare, and the DC "snipers" were from the wrong "ethnic group" for the narrative (as well as also attempting jihad).
So turning the brush dipped in clown paint upon a liberal atheist is just an example in point. Whatever his motivations, he is accused of committing a heinous act. Making up potential inspirations for him based upon his postings, however accurate those assumptions might be, is just jumping the gun, but it does serve as a useful demonstration of how the media bias is "allowed" to go one way, and never another, in order to best suit the media's narrative and goals.

I think NC is a Gold Star OC state? Mrs. Oldgringo and I went to a gun show in Charlotte many years ago and there were some scary guns on the hip in the crowd.
Back on point, murder is murder, Hang the killer!
