This article makes no sense: It says "shots fired" be makes it sound like it was a single bullet.

This one at least makes more sense. It shows how people wrongly think "this couldn't happen here".

Was this poor weapon handling like the first article implies, or murder like the second suggests?

Not only can it happen "here", it can happen to "you".

This one is strange to say the least. Apparently witnesses didn't see anyone run away, so I wonder if it was a murder attempted suicide.

Aunt or daughter who was shot but survived is a CHL, the gun found inside the car is suspected to have belonged to her. (may not have been fired as read on)
Son of mother who was killed has had his bail revoked and is suspected in the murder of his mom and the shooting of his aunt or sister.
The suspect previously was released on bond after having admitted to stabbing his girlfriend to death in front of her two children.
Apparently the judge decided he was not a flight risk and was not a future danger to others and granted bail.

"The suspect previously was released on bond after having admitted to stabbing his girlfriend to death in front of her two children."
And the judge allowed him to be released on bond?
Has the world gone mad?

I wonder how the judge came to that conclusion and if he's rethinking it now.

Well he didn't kill his mom. He is charged with killing his great aunt and stabbing a second cousin.
He was denied bail this time.
I guess killing while out on bail after earlier confessing to murder is where they draw the line.

It further confirms to me that family and acquaintances are more likely to harm you than a random stranger.
Many of the recent local multiple shootings involved "Familiar Danger", and it's the elephant in the room no one wants to talk about.
Being wary of surroundings and suspicious strangers is always a good thing, but the possibly greater threat from family and romantic partners need to be assessed as well.
