Cabela's had them on sale last weekend for $399.
Not sure whether that's ended.

Keep in mind there are 2 versions of the Shield (for each caliber). There's a thumb safety model and a no thumb safety model. It will be relatively easy to find the thumb safety model, but the no thumb safety model is pretty much flying off shelves, so you may have to order it online if that's the one you want.
I personally carry the model without the thumb safety.

The one with a safety is not a problem either, if you don't want to use it leave it off. It does not get in the way of shooting the gun and I just leave it off. Palmetto State Armory has them on for $339.

Bud's normally ships faster but they're out of stock. Palmetto has them in stock and charged me $17 to ship plus my FFL fee when it arrived.

Thank you so very much. This is going to be my wifes first gun. She is really torn between this and the sig. Litte does she know she will be the owner of 1 of each.
