Senseless and totally avoidable. Multiple lives destroyed because an idiot didn't properly secure a weapon.

That is so sad. My prayers go out to all of the families and friends.

Also, I wish the "Chron" editors would use headings of a more definitive nature.
Their heading, "Reports: 4-year-old shot dead in north Harris County" heading, to me, implies maybe the child was shot by someone else.
compared to Click2Houston.com's heading, "HCSO confirms 4-year-old dies after shooting self".

Media companies are in such a competition to get the story out before anyone else need to take a few breaths before releasing articles.

4 year old was at the home of a baby sitter overnight while the Mom celebrated a birthday. Her only child.

So so sad.
