Which State Agencies permit employees to carry?

I am curious about which Texas state agencies, boards, offices etc permit their employees who have CHLs to carry on-the-job/on agency property. This is what I have so far:
TxDOT:

The
Texas Rail Road Commission :

Tx AG :

Texas General Land Office : authorized it back in 2003 when Jerry Patterson took over. I don't think I need a link to prove that one.
Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles :

Texas Medical Board : Maybe? They were looking into it:

Are there any others?

I know an IRS employee who is part of group of agents who are issued firearms. Not sure if he is still "state" or graduated to Fed.

Aren't all IRS employees federal?

Yes the IRS is federal.
There is rather a long list of state boards, offices, and other bureaucratic entities...I was hoping there were a few more with some 2A sense. One of the articles I linked to above said the Comptroller's office did not permit employees to carry, but that article was back in 2011. Glenn Hegar has since become Comptroller, he touted his 2A support when he was running for office and was endorsed by the NRA for that office, I wonder if he changed the employee policy? Anyone know? Maybe I'll make a call Monday.
This would be an interesting question for the NRA and TSRA to put to all the heads of state agencies: Do you permit your state employees who have CHLs to carry and if not why not?

You can add that the Comptroller's office does not allow anyone other than peace officers commissioned by them to carry at work. They do allow it in the car though, in part due to the parking lot law.

That triggers a memory -- wasn't there a post awhile back about the Comptroller letting only its own commissioned officers carry in its offices, not even peace officers from other agencies could carry?
And how about the ABC? I think you worked for them at one point, but moved to another agency? Does the ABC permit licensed concealed carry at its offices? How about your current employer (if it is not the ABC)?

Whoops. Right you are. He went from "State of Texas" to IRS. My fingers sometimes get1/2 a step ahead of my brain. If you ever saw me type, you would know that is ssloooow.

the Texas state guard disallows weapons to be carried in uniform period absent orders to the contrary, they can and will process chapter 15 of the TCMJ or Texas code of military justice chapter 15 non judicial punishment. it doesn't matter if your in your own vehicle or not in the parking lot or not, you carry without orders you loose

Yes, I work for the Comptroller now and even reserve officers from other agencies are banned from carrying at work. When I worked for TABC, they did not allow CHLs to carry, but I don't know if that has changed. They have an all new administration now, so anything could be true. When I was there, they were looking at how some of the civilian auditors who had to go to various licensed places might be better served by allowing them to carry. I don't know how that worked out though.

Thanks for the info. Interesting that the Comptroller is so strict. Mr. Hegar makes a big point of being pro-2A on his website and campaign materials, I think he should be tweaked about this.
But I guess since it is the Comptroller's office, all those stacks of cash sitting around the office must be too tempting for anyone but a highly trained comptroller-commissioned officer to have gun, else you would be awash in armed robberies.

Interesting. Who can issue such an order, and has he or she done so?

The governor or chain of command, yes it has been done but not very often and has a lot of restrictions on who can and when they can and the use of the weapon as much as 30 pages for ROE

IMO if I can carry in the Capital as a private resident of Texas with a CCW then all state employees who work for the state should too. Greg Abbott needs to issue an Executive order demanding all state agencies allow it ASAP.

While I like that idea, it would not help me. I don't work for Greg Abbott. By working for a different elected state official, there are limits to what the governor can order about my office.

Presumably Texas AG is another state agency head who won't be carrying after getting booked on a felony in Collin County and bonding out today. Don't know if he had a CHL or not, but presumably if he did, it got suspended...
