I wonder if this was another gun free zone. Glad the police took this guy out before he could hurt more. Amazing what happens when there is a good guy with a gun around.

Not sure about this location, but Carmike is "officially" a gun free zone.

Boycott Carmike Cinemas

Carmike Cinemas – No Guns Allowed

No Carmike Cinemas

Here is their response to our inquiry:

“Thank you for your inquiry concerning Carmike’s policy on the possession of firearms within our theatres. The events in Aurora, Colorado have placed a renewed emphasis on safety and emergency protocols at all of our theatre locations. Like many movie exhibitors and other retail businesses, Carmike does not allow weapons of any kind, including firearms, into our theatres, except for weapons carried by law enforcement and other security personnel. This policy was in effect prior the recent events in Colorado and remains our policy going forward.”

The suspect also heavily sprayed chemicals inside the theater. Officials responded with gas masks.

Carmike's anti-gun policy is a mighty strong advertisement for NetFlix, IMO.

BTW, the only Antioch I'm aware of in Tennessee is now a suburb of Nashville. Antioch used to be out in the country.

He attacked with pepper spray and a hatchet. He saved his gun for a shoot out with police.

A police officer was working a traffic accident and was notified by the public. He was there within 2 minutes. He exchanged gun fire with the subject who retreated.

Well done.

One has to wonder if any alarm bells would go off in the pin heads of those who run these "no gun hunting sanctuaries" if someone walked in wearing camouflage, carrying a 10 gallon bug sprayer on his back, Bowie on his belt, and an axe over his shoulder. Just a happy woodsman out to take in a movie. "Big Coke and a bag of popcorn, sir?"

I think I see a day coming when no sign, legal or not, will stop people from carrying protection for themselves and their families.
