“A dove blind’s anything that conceals you from the bird, you know, it lets you hide a little bit. It can be tall grass, it can be shrubs,” Hale said. “They just happened to build one out of marijuana plants.”
Well, in a way, wasn't it tall grass?

I think this is from Cheech and Chong's new movie.

I remember years ago reading that marijuana was Oklahoma's biggest cash crop. Don't know if it is still true. Makes great bird seed though and I used to see fields of unplanted naturally growing marijuana in Nebraska and lots of pheasant. Nobody cared about the marijuana, only the pheasant.

Well, they say marijuana is a gateway drug. Whether that is factual or not, in this case the guys had moved up to quack.

I am not sure if the marijuana blind was what they were primarily arrested for. They were illegally hunting over a baited field and one was found to have hawk talons and such that are illegal there. Lots of different stuff.

What do hawk talons have to do with dove hunting?

A group of us found a whole field of wild pot growing near where we were camped in Nebraska back in 1967, near Crawford. All it was good for was headaches (giving them). Don't ask me how I know.
