27 or more are dead in a terrorist attack in Mali which is in Africa. A Western hotel was attacked by armed men shouting Allah Akbar. A number of hostages were taken. If you could recite the Koran you were released by the terrorists.

The headline says US Special Forces rescued the hostages, but later on it does not repeat the statement. It would certainly be welcome news that the US Special Forces came to the rescue, as that would mean they acted bravely without authorization or that authorization from the Commander in Chief came quickly. Either would be good news.

I could not find out much about Mali and their gun laws. But it sounds like guns were rounded up by the UN and burned in a big bonfire. So it sounds like guns are restricted.

I read reports there were a lot of DOD Americans in the hotel. Not sure why a lot of any Americans would be in Mali.

I would then assume, they have all done this with out the Commander in Chiefs permission. One wonders, if their will be
repercussions from superiors for their heroic actions. After all they probably fired guns and things.
