Have the criminals feed the gators... Sounds like Florida has found a good plan!

Hhhhmm, I've often wade fished where salt water going, very large, alligators would peal off the banks and come to investigate me.
They're curious.
I've often been baited by virtue of having Specs, Reds, and Flounder on my stringer and was never bothered.
I did this often at Aransas National Wildlife Refuge where I worked at a resident volunteer clearing trails.
Plenty of other people wade fished there too and were never injured by alligators.
The scariest thing that happened while wade fishing was when a bottle nose dolphin very close to me, broke the surface with only his dorsal fine showing for about 20 seconds and I wondered (gulp) if it was a huge shark, until he blew some air and salt water through his blow hole.
At the time, I was about a third of a mile from shore, chunking lures on V reef. This was also the area I spotted my first visiting alligator while I had a stringer full of bloody fish. Kinda scary the first time, after that experience I remained alert, but not especially frightened about alligators in the water with me.
Since then, as a kayaker, I've run into them almost every time I paddle calm, fresh water and they've never bothered me. I actually enjoy seeing them.

Gator snack!
He told his GF that he was going to burglarize some homes? Is it like, "Hey babe, going to burgle some homes. Need anything from the store while I'm out?"

The sad part of this story is the gator lost his life over this guy. The gator was just doing what was natural for him.

They should of gave the gator a medal instead. McGator the crime croc, taking a bite out of crime.

Instead of killing the gator, they should have deputized him or at least made him the Captain of the Neighborhood Watch.

Decisions have consequences. I regret that the alligator also paid the price for the burglar's bad decisions, though.

They should stuff it posed sitting up on it's hind legs and tail while picking it's teeth. Put a police uniform on it (complete with badge) and a plaque that reads, "This is what we do with criminals".
Then they could display it at the local police station.
