Not a lot of details yet, but this is during daylight hours at a time when families might be around.

Updated info. Victim was the owner of that McDonald's and was making a bank run. SUV pulled up to rob him. Owner pulled his own gun, but was shot by someone in SUV. It appears that the robber's knew his routine, so may have been a current or former employee. Also sounds like owner was a LTC holder. This goes to show that just because you are armed doesn't mean the gun is a panacea to stop and attack.
RIP fellow LTC

Agreed
Very Sad. RIP fellow 'good guy'.
Even with good situational awareness, things like this can happen. You simply can't avoid every possible ambush scenario.
Just a very sad occurrence and outcome.
So, let us mourn the loss, pray for his family and not be tempted to use this incident to prove a point...other than: Evil exists among us.
C/C (element of surprise), OC (possible deterrent or first target), Action beats Reaction, etc.... PLEASE... JUST LEAVE IT ALONE!
One of OURS is fallen. I am sure he did his 'best' under the circumstances.
My prayers go to out to all affected.
Flint.

This is why it's bad to even have a "routine", especially when it comes to transporting large sums of cash. Having a routine does not make it his fault in any way, shape, form, or fashion, but being predictable makes it much easier for someone to set up an ambush. Vary your routine... be unpredictable.
My heart goes out to his family.

May he rest in peace.
Sad story.
I hope that the scum is caught swiftly and brought to justice, in Huntsville.

I hope they find the scumbags who did it and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.
