Well this signage stuff has not really involved me until tonight when I saw two fresh new signs at my sons Jiu jitsu school. I let him know he won't be going there much if any longer and he was almost in tears saying he wants to make it to black belt, broke my heart he has been going there for 2 years now, but I told him we will find a new school for him I also have formulated an email to the owner but am holding off on sending for now I will speak to the head instructor on Friday. The monetary loss to the school will only be about $1800+ a year.
So I have taken points and links from Charles thread with the spreadsheets, any additional fun facts you all can add would be appreciated.

It seems pretty odd to me that a martial arts school would want a person to be unarmed. The school we attend offers both empty-hand and weapons instruction -- including guns. Then again, our school is labeled as a personal protection academy so dealing with an attack is sort of the idea.

Just send them a respectful letter or email making sure to include the part where CHL holders are statistically less likely to commit a crime than just about anyone else.

The school probably thinks you can stop a bullet with your hand.

This is the plan but wanted to calm down before I send the email.

Or, you could politely speak with them.
No gun - Loss of business from you and likely others...

Is this a Machado school by chance? If so, I might be able to help. I know someone that's close w/ them.

Sorry. Good luck in your fight. Terrible that your son won't be able to participate because of foolish signs.

Sorry, I had to throw in a Last Dragon quote.
Been looking for an Akido school here in Lubbock but not having luck. Everything is MMA stuff these days seems like.

The irony of a martial art school banning legal guns is interesting.
Telling as well.
My school when I was young had two real samurai swords in the lobby (not in a case or any thing) resting on pegs on the wall of the entrance. Only a fool would have touched them.

Spoke to the head instructor tonight it seems they've had two or three open carriers come into the school one almost falling asleep and because they have lots of kids here they felt the need to post signs however I was speaking to her tonight she said she's going to speak to the owner and probably take down at 30.06 as it was mostly the open carriers they were trying to stop. It turns out the kids are fascinated with guns and its a distraction to class.
Update: 17 jan, 30.07 sign down.
