Gap with holsters with two clips (CTAC-style)

To those who are using IWB holsters with two clips... do you have this gap in front of the holster? I'm talking about the open space directly behind the front clip. I thought this holster would eventually shape itself to follow the contour of my body but even wearing it a lot, the "wings" of the holster are still stiff. Is this supposed to shape itself eventually?

What you see is normal. Get used to the gaps, they are not going away.

Maybe Comp-Tac can offer "gap plugs" someday, like they have for the bottom of the stocks on Glocks.

If you are wearing a cover garment (as I assume you would outside your home), it is unlikely anything will fall in there. And if perchance you do drop something in there, then walk around a little and watch for it to work its way out the bottom of your pants.

Yep, I have the gap also. I just tuck in my shirt over it while at work. So far, in 2 days at work with a tucked shirt over the CTAC, only one person has spotted the weapon.

On my first day carrying at work, I ate lunch at the local sandwich shop with 2 deputies at one table and 2 local PD at another. Either they didn't notice the concealed handgun (unlikely but possible) or the CTAC with the M&P9c was sufficiently concealed. Either way, I am pleased with the concealment.

I am waiting on a VM2 to carry the Springer Loaded Champion at work. That will probably be easier to conceal while tucked.

My Tucker does not do it because (I think) the clips are more spread out. For what it's worth though when I think about it, it does do that on my Tucker holsters for my Glock .40's, Glock .45s, and my Springfield XD.45.... :headscratch Better go try them on to check... again

Yes, especially if you wear it at 3:00 where your hips curve the most. Put the same holster at 4-5:00 and you'll get less of a gap. With the shirt over it, it really doesn't matter.

It sounds like it's normal and I have no reason to contact the manufacturer.

Thanks everyone.

This is the best advice. I've noticed a similar gap with both a ctac and a crossbreed. Basically your best bet is to slide the holster a bit further back, and the gap will basically disappear. Unfortunately, the further back you go, the more your gun shows under a shirt if you bend at the waist.

It'll take some effort to find the "right spot", and even that changes with each holster and each gun..

Absolutely! That's why I don't pay much attention to raving reviews of holsters. That right spot changes with each pair of jeans or shorts I wear.
