Change in Status (the BAD kind)

Prologue: 1/11 all in, 4/2 status change.
So on Saturday, I received the heralded UPDATED STATUS on the website (with options to change address, report it stolen, etc.). Since I had moved in the interim period of time (sorry my life can't be put on hold while DPS takes its sweet time), I submitted a change of address form on the website and paid the fee. I got an email receipt for that, and a confirmation that "my checklist contains no required supporting document items." Which is good...I think (that's ambiguous wording).
So after two days where the website is unavailable (48 hours after that address update), my page has gone BACK to the original status (no options for address, etc.).
Has anyone else seen this phenomenon? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

Oh it's the answer you need alright. It's just not the answer you want.

GIVE ME THE ANSWER I WANT! NOW!
Seriously, just looking for precedent for the status screen reverting to its original state. I haven't seen evidence of that happening elsewhere.

You might change the first word in your reply or this whole thread might be deleted. The Mods are pretty strict about that.

Yeah, I remember when I was chastised for less and now more and more of mild cussing is allowed...
Mods, have you lowered your standards?

It appears to have been changed in the original post but not in the subsequent quotes by those giving replies.

No, the standards haven't changed.
Fixed 'em all.
Thanks for pointing that out.

I answered this in the Waiting Room thread:

It means you have something in progress. In this case, you now have an address change in progress. In a few days, it will go back to the other screen.

UPDATE: My options returned this morning on the status screen (5 days later). Still waiting on plastic, but feeling reassured that I haven't been bounced off into some special purgatory.
I now return you to my regularly scheduled waiting.

I'm just curious. With questions like this wouldn't it be easier to call DPS? I've never had to call them with questions so maybe it's difficult thing to do. Maybe it's scary.

Look at all of the aggravation you could have saved yourself. Just my thoughts.

Whenever I've called, I've gotten a "call back" message. Not "please hold", a "hang up and try again later" message.
I tend to agree with this forum's stance that we should refrain from bothering them and let them process our applications if at all possible.
Evidence I've seen also suggests that they have two responses for us: "Oh, it'll take another two months" (even if plastic arrives the next day), or "Congrats! It's coming this week!" (even when it's not).
