Salon Employee Ends Robbery Spree by Pulling Gun on Suspect
“As soon as Megan my girlfriend opened the drawer he said I don’t want any trouble just give me all the money,” Hoblit told WDTN. “At that point my girlfriend’s instincts kicked in and we had a pistol underneath and she grabbed the pistol pointed it right at his face and said I don’t think you’re going to get that money today.”
The police think the guy may have committed five other robberies. Suspect still at large. Police seeking man with stained pants and unpleasant aroma.

I think this incident proved she and her money were safer by having a gun.

A little follow-up:
James Odum Jr., 51, was sentenced Monday to three years in prison for a string of robberies in Dayton and Kettering in early 2016.

Odum of Dayton robbed a Circle K in Dayton April 5, followed by Rich’s Smoke Shop in Kettering April 6, and the Dairy Queen, a Subway and and Sundeck Tanning Salon in Dayton April 8.

Turns out he was using the old hand-in-the-pocket-like-he-had-a-gun-but-didn't-really trick, and the tanning salon gal called his bluff.

He robbed three business in about 20 minutes, and two police cars collided in an intersection while responding to the calls.
