Tucker "The Answer" and Tucker Gunbelts
OK,
So I know everyone says "The Answer" is greatness. If it is that great, I will shell out for it.
My post has more to do with body type. I am a bigger boy :-) 5'10" 282 or so. All in the gut in my opinion. Will this holster be comfortable for me? Will my pants stay up? Am I relegated to OWB forever? How about his belts? Are they really any more special then any of the other quality gunbelts out there?
So basically, any other fat guys out there with this experience? :-D

Tucker holsters are top of the line. I do not have an "Answer" but several on the board do. We have some BIG guys on here.
Belts.
Tucker has a line of gunbelts made for him by an outside maker that only does belts. I have never seen them in person but if Tucker sells them they will be good.
There is a thred on the board right now on Beltman.com.
His belts get good reviews. They are plain but quality for the price. It is covered up all the time anyway.
I have never bought a NEW gunbelt. You may wnat to get your 1st & then watch the board for a used one from someone that has lost weight.
Or I will encourage you to. I did & feel better. Carry better too.

Health issues prevent the weight loss... :-(
Well, my only experience thus far is that the C-Tac makes my pants have wayyy down, almost down like the homey's, lol...
Do you know if an IWB like the Answer would overcome this? And I don;t wanna wait 12 weeks. 3 MONTHS!!!!!! Even if I ordered 2 holsters and 2 belts it would not save me any time, sheesh, lol...

I am sorry about the health issues. You may try PM back & forth w/ Carlson1. He has many health issues too & will be willing to share anything that he has figured out.
I did not like the C-TAC either. I like all the other Comp-Tac holsters though. My IWB for the Kimber Pro is an Infidel.
If Tucker's lead time on the "Answer" is 12 weeks right now then that is short.
It will not get any shorter.
I try to get guys to buy what I call an Interum Holster. Buy a quality holster for your carry gun from a for sale post. Wear it until what you want comes in then sell it. If you lose $20.00 on it, count that as rent. Divide that by 12 weeks & you rented a holster for less than $2.00 a week. Folks rent a gun to see if they like it & never bat an eye.
Now for the pants sagging business. I have worn suspenders all my life & when I started carrying I found them to be my best friend.
Tucker HF1 & suspenders. They never show. If the gun is covered so are the suspenders.

My interrum holster while I was waiting on the tucker to come in. (Forgot I still had this one.) It is a Galco Concealable. Not my personal choice but a quality holster that was for sale. Gave $50.00 for it & if I sell it for $25.00 it served its purpose. A dollar a week while waiting on what you want is not out of bounds of reason.

Will help any way I possible can.

Thanks LT. I am not so worried about wasting money, I just want something NOW that will not drag my pants down and not dig into my love handles like the C-TAC does. JB said I could send it back and I should try an FBI OWB, but I have been out of the country for awhile now and I am not sure if the exchange offer is still open.
I bought LT's Locking Paddle from Comp-Tac for my Glock so I an planning on carrying that. I would like a leather one though as well.
Did you say you were sellin the Galco for 25? :-)
Thanks for taking the pics for me. My belly is bigger than yours. You about a 40 waist?
By the way, I love the grip on your 1911....

Used to be a 42. Now a 36.
Did not say I was selling it but if you need it for a 1911 I will if you will give me say $4.00 more for postage. $29.00 total. I have several more if I need a backup. How is that? Remember it is for a 1911 govt & not a Glock.

I am a larger guy, as LT can tell you, and I've found IWB very tricky. My waist in now a 42 but It was between 44 and 46 a year ago. Diabetes changes things. It seems to boil down to how you wear your pants. Are you one of the guys that lit the belly flop over the belt (like me) or do you wear your waistband higher. It seems that the ones that wear their pant higher seem to do better than us floppers. I've tried several IWB holster and the most comfortable bar none has been the Milt Sparks VM II. IT concealed very well, put the grip and a very functional angle, and was very comfortable. I know, I know, you think Milt Sparks holsters and all you think is the very long (sometimes as much as a year) wait times. Never fear. They can be had in less than a week. Lightning Arms Sports stocks them. Now you will pay a small premium but it may be worth it not to wait.
As for belts. My gun belt is from Rafter S. They use seven smaller spaced holes instead of the usual five. It makes it easier to fine tune for comfort. When I bought mine, it was $50 and I received it in a little over a week.
Now all this is not to downplay any Tucker product. Mr. Tucker is a super nice man and I currently own and HF-1 for my 1911 and have a revolver pancake on order for my S&W M19. See I like Tucker's gear.
Another forum member, and good friend, has one of the Comp-Tac belts and gives it good marks. I will be trying one myself when my Rafter S gets too larger. The Comp-Tac belts have a kydex insert and they taper at the buckle so it appears that it won't cut into the belly meat.
