IANAL, but the whole concealed rifle past a 30.06 to me is asking for trouble. You know what they mean. This is purely my opinion.

I wouldn't.

Edit - that's a 30.07 so never mind, but my thought on a 30.06 still applies...

The picture doesn't show a 30.06 sign, but assuming one is there, the sign still doesn't say anything about 30.05.

"No Weapons"?? The definition of weapons in 46.02 doesn't include long guns, and I've never seen anything in 30.05 that says that a generic sign on a facility open to the public invokes 30.05. Even the 1995 opinion by AG Morales only referenced concealed handguns and also was overridden by 30.06 and probably never would have stood up on challenge. So I don't buy the "circle-slash-beretta" means 30.05 notice for concealed rifles.

30.06 is exactly the same on the other side. It's posted both as most hospitals are.

There's no violation of the law with 30.06 or 30.07 with a rifle. That's clear. 30.06 is irrelevant to long guns.
The real question is whether a "no weapons" sign makes it a violation of 30.05.

I'm going to go with your view.
Again, concealed is concealed, so the only time it would be found is if I had to utilize it for defense or maybe if some type of accident happened with me and it was found by someone helping etc.
I'd prefer to not have any legal issues in that scenario.

If there's no 30.06 out of the frame or something, you're legal with a concealed handgun too.

I have a computer backpack that holds both my MacBook and my Sub 2000.
It is a typical laptop backpack, so it nobody would ever think there's a rifle in there. I love that!
The day I was at this hospital with my rifle, a workplace shooting happened 2 miles away.
I felt like such a sitting duck when at hospitals. Not anymore.

I don't have a case specifically for the Sub 2000 yet. When I go to the range, it fits in my range bag (from Midway I believe).

I'll google your bag. Curious how that works for you.

Yep. Circumstances have had me spend significant time in the heart of Houston's Medical Center in recent weeks--a place I only rarely visited in the past--and the arrangement of buildings and skywalks have had me in Houston Methodist, Texas Children's, Memorial Hermann and St. Luke's hospitals. After the first day, I didn't even bother to look for signs anymore: 30.06 and 30.07 are everywhere, in the skywalks, at escalators, at elevators, at street entrances. Due in part to the pervasive signage, I have no doubt that a man-with-a-gun call would be placed instantly if anyone carries and is found out.

That's the key right there. You have to be discreet. The only reason it should be known is if you have to use it, and then in that case, people knowing is the least of your concern.

You can carry a long gun anywhere the law doesn't exclude. What part of 30.06 or 30.07 addresses long guns?

Unless the property owner specifically says no, and it's not excluded in 46.03, carry away.

OC or CC. You are not carrying a long gun under the authority of your LTC. 06/07 apply to only handguns carried by only LTC holders.

For the record, I would pretty much NEVER OC a long gun unless on my property.

I don't want this thread to go that route.
