I don't understand how this could have happened. If it was illegal to have any gun in the area, then he must have broken the law. why can't people understand that we have laws for a reason. We should pass a law that says that it is illegal to ignore the law. We must stop this from ever happening again. For the children's sake please.

TTAG got this story wrong. Their story has a screencap, which they say is from Mandalay Bay, but they offer no proof. IMO, it's because if they linked the source, then the story would be much less of a story. Search the web for "mandalay bay security policy" and one of the top results should be this PDF. Look at number 5 and it appears that the PDF is where TTAG got the screenshot. But the PDF is titled "Policies and Requirements for Private Security Companies." The no-weapons policy is not for guests, but for outside private security companies (hired by those who rent meeting rooms or exhibit halls at MB.)

Your guess is as good as mine whether this is just TTAG being incompetent in reporting the facts, or whether they purposely bent the truth for clickbait. Fron their previous reporting on other stories, it could be either.

Even if MB had posted signs banning possession of privately-owned firearms on their property, such a sign doesn't hold force of law in Nevada. I've been armed inside MB, myself.

It wasn't illegal, but it was against the hotel policy.

No guns signs in NV have no force of law unless they are posted on property that is prohibited under state law.

There is no mention of the word "casino" in the above linked document.

“No Firearm” signs in Nevada have no force of law unless they are posted on property that is specifically
mentioned in State Law as being off limits to those with a Permit/License to Carry. If you are in a place not
specifically mentioned in the law that is posted and they ask you to leave, you must leave.
