New home security system!

I would like to introduce Winchester Magnum vom Anlaufstelle. On occasions that don't require such formality, he'll simply be Magnum.

7 1/2 weeks old... just came home from the breeder's with us today.

He came from the "W" litter... so the W_____ vom Anlaufstelle part was pretty much set. We had decided on Magnum for the name... and Winchester is a natural fit with the conventional naming scheme.

It'll be a while before the new security system is fully functional... but he's already fully fun!

Look at those feet!

He's going to be a big boy soon!

I'm having some puppy-itis flashbacks...

He looks like a go getter. The pic is an example of the look he will give to you when he get's into something he should not have. Congrats and enjoy.

Nice security system to be. Oh, those puppy moments though.

We rescued a Golden puppy last year and named her Lucy because of the red hair. Now her name is Lucy Retardo because of the puppy antics at her size.

We have had that type of security system for years, it has mechanical/electrical alarms beat all to heck. Well worth the occasional chewed item during formative days. The house would be real empty without at least one dog around.

Magnum is a big boy. He looks as big as my full-grown security system.

This one makes a lot of noise, but I'm afraid he may lick the BG to death.

Goldens and Labs are famous for retaining puppy like qualities until they reach 2-3 years old.

Give Lucy a "little more wink".....she'll mature eventually.

I consider our dogs an invaluable addition to our home security plan, plus... they just make "life" more enjoyable.

Sangiovese - Beautiful pup! We recently (last year) lost our 16 year old German Shepherd to cancer. I was heartbroken, but I am finally just about ready to look for another one.

If you are happy with the breeder, would you share with me where your pup came from?

Yep. Lucy now goes to work with my wife and daughter (they own a grooming shop). She greets everyone that comes in, mothers all of the smaller dogs but no one comes through the 1/2 door that separates the front from the grooming area that is not supposed to. She stays between that door and the first table to protect them.

We rescued an Austalian Sheperd back in January. He has been a great dog but up until about a month ago he was so friendly that I figured he would help any burglar carry stuff out if he got a little petting. In the last month though, he has started becoming more protective barking even at my kids friends when they come to the door. (Although once the door opened and he recognized them, he reverted to wanting petting.) Last week a sales guy came to the door, Kenny barked up a storm and the guy left right away! Wouldn't even talk to my wife. So I think he has finally become a living security system!

He's a German Shepherd. Aside from that, he's the kind that likes to eat the carpet... but we're workin' on that ;-)
