Looking into Kel-Tec PF-9... Help? Thoughts?

I am in need of something more concealable than my XD-40, but as it conceals well with almost anything, I've decided to go with something quite small. The PF-9 is a single-stack magazine and is smaller than the P-11 because of it. Another factor that attracts me is the drop safety factor in comparison with the P-11. While I'm open to other recommendations, I am hoping we can keep this discussion centered on Kel-Tec, and more specifically, the PF-9. I'd love to hear any and all thoughts on this gun as I cannot find a review on the web and have had minimal contact with the gun beyond handling it quite briefly at McBride's in Austin last week. Thanks.

I'm toying with the idea of a PF9 as well. Here's a recent thread about it on THR: http://thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=293742

I own one and think it is reliable enough for my carry piece. It kicks rather hard and is not a very good range gun, but it is a good BUG gun.

I have one also, and it's a great little gun for summer carry. Very light - hardly noticeable when out walking the dog or whatever. I used a belly band the other day and checked the mirror - it had literally zero print no matter which way I turned.

I have a pocket holster on order and haven't received it yet, but I've carried the gun without a holster in a cargo pants pocket and in jean shorts front pocket and it just looks like a wallet or phone, especially with shirt untucked so it covers the top of the pocket where the handle is a little more obvious otherwise.

During the winter I'm sure I'll just throw it in my coat pocket as a backup.

Yeah, not a range gun, but not really meant to be either.

I probably should have mentioned that I would love to shoot one if anyone is near the Austin area and willing to meet me at the range. I would be much obliged.

I'm in Dallas if you ever get up this way.

btw I bought the small houge grip for mine and it helped some with the recoil.

You need to shoot one before you buy it, they have a very long heavy trigger and it will beat up your hand if you shoot too many at the range.
I had a P-11 and eventually sold it. I carry a .357 mag revolver now for my small carry times. Kel-Tecs are small that's for sure but they have draw backs as well.
