Not Texas..thankfully.
At least the owner/CCW holder wasn't badly hurt. Does any one else read this as being more than a little fishy?

Two major mistakes made here if this story is true.
1. Laying down with a belly band on.
2. Having a dog jumping on your lap while having a gun in a belly band while laying down.

What else did he have on besides the belly band?

If your gun has no manual safety (e.g. a Glock or something like that) then don't carry in a soft-sided holster like a bellyband or Smartcarry, where the trigger can be pulled through the holster if enough pressure is applied. Even if your gun does have a manual safety, I'd still advise against it, because manual safeties can be disengaged by accident.

That is what happened according to the article. The dog disengaged the thumb safety jumping up one time, and pulled the trigger the 2nd time.
