I believe you are required to notify TX within 30 days of your relocating. TX will send you a nonresident license if you request it and pay the fee. When the license is up for renewal they will send you a letter and you can renew easily online. I don't see any reason to give up your TX license, certainly not before you have UT.

You can renew it online, The Texas LTC is valuable for it's recprocity in more states than any other state. If you move back again you will have to go through the classes, the photo's and fingerprinting all over again.

The easiest thing is to renew early and update your address. You can renew online 180 days before your birthday.

If you’ve moved out of state & gotten a new Washington DL- you must renew or change address by mail. The website is not set up to change your DL# to another state
