Remington R1 enhanced threaded barrel slide stop question

I bought one of these pistols a couple weeks ago and thought I looked it over good enough........silly me.
When I test fired it the other day I noticed the slide stop hangs into the upper radius of the trigger area. No effect on function or accuracy, but I'm a little concerned. I own several 1911's and have never seen this before. Anyone else encounter this issue? I contacted remmy's service dept., and they're sending me a package to ship it back, I'm just not sure that they'll "fix" the issue. The comment on the packing slip says it's a "slide stop marking" issue........maybe they think I'm complaining of the idiot mark? Who knows.
Does anyone have the dimensions for a 1911 frame? I could measure the holes against what they should be vs. what I have. Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you.
