A man who was killed in a shootout with a sheriff’s deputy in Napa County, California, last Sunday was in the country illegally, according to officials from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.
The suspect, Javier Hernandez Morales, 43, was a farm worker in the Napa Valley who had previously been deported three times and had prior brushes with the law for DUI, assaulting a police officer and weapons violations, according to ABC 7 in San Francisco.
Deputy was not hit.

Mr. Morales exhibited exceedingly poor judgment, and that cost him his life. We can all wish such episodes would not happen, but this happened, and we can all be glad the officer survived.

She seemed to have some really good control... Notice as soon as he fires, she fires back and then her voice on the radio "Shots fired, shots fired" seemed to really be in control....

Despite what all the arm chair quarterbacks and the so-called self proclaimed self defense youtube celebrities say, this young lady obviously is highly trained. That should come as no surprise because she is third generation LE.
D-bag looks her square in the eye (timestamp 0:41 in video below), fires point blank - and she steps back, calmly radios support with a flashlight in her hand, moves to a tactically superior position - and while the D-bag was trying to figure out where she went, she ambushes him, firing for all intents and purposes with one hand, in cadence and puts all necessary shots on target through glass while still holding a flashlight. Cool as a cucumber as they say.
Time estimate from seatbelt to shot fired by D-bag is 0.4 seconds by the way ...
Here is a video that has it in slo-mo after the full speed:

Driver kept reaching for the floorboard. Woulda made me suspicious too. I count 16 rounds on her part. She either slide-locked, or was just one short.....

You know why she fired 16 rounds? Because she didn't have 17. LOL
She did make a couple of rookie mistakes by not making the guy keep his hands visible and moving around to the drivers side and losing sight of what he was doing was not a good move.
Glad the other training and her reflexes covered her once the waste hit the rotating oscillator.

Statement from ICE about the illegal immigrant that tried to shoot the deputy:
Javier Hernandez-Morales was a Mexican national unlawfully present in the United States who had been previously removed three times prior to 2011.
After 2011, ICE issued detainers four separate times for Hernandez-Morales following his arrests for local crimes including driving under the influence, battery on a peace officer, selling liquor to a minor and probation violations. None of the four detainers lodged were honored by local jails.
ICE is grateful the deputy involved in this shooting was not harmed during this attack. It's unfortunate that our law enforcement partners and the community are subjected to dangerous consequences because of inflexible state laws that protect criminal aliens.
This incident may have been prevented if ICE had been notified about any of the multiple times Hernandez-Morales was released from local custody over the last few years. This is an impactful, scary example of how public safety is affected by laws or policies limiting local law enforcement agencies' ability to cooperate with ICE.

According to a joint statement by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Javier Hernandez-Morales was only shooting at LEO that Americans won't shoot.

So if I read this correctly, sanctuary policies of the local governments kept ICE from picking him up multiple times?
Well, he won't be a problem anymore. Glad the deputy went home safe that night.
