Just because the FBI goes out drinking, dancing and negligently discharging doesn't mean you can too!

Harris County DA grants deferred adjudication to defendants with multiple violent felony arrests and/or convictions. She gets PR bonds approved by judges when the defendant is charged in violent crimes. Several of these defendants went to on commit additional violent crimes, sometimes murder, when they are free. Yet this man gets neither deferred adjudication or a PR bond for what could well be a negligent act. Why? I don't know, but I suspect it is because a gun was at issue.
I"m not saying he should not have been charged or required to post a bond. I simply find the different handling of intentional violent acts and an apparent/possible accident quite telling.
Chas.

This is a powerful observation. They are letting violent criminals out on the streets all over Harris County. However this man, even though it is presumed that his firearm was discharged "accidentally", and even though no one appears to have been seriously or permanently harmed, is treated differently because his offense involved a gun, and because Harris County is now run almost exclusively by democrat politicians.

"It was very well protected," Gonzalez said.
