Bad guys know law says it's ok to carry in your vehicle.

Took the wife to the movies today in Katy at the Cinamark on Hwy 99 & I10. Locked my brand new CC Glock 23 in the truck secured with my
Viper alarm and went inside to enjoy the show. So much for the alarm going off in my pocket to warn me. Came out about an hour & half later to find my door lock on my F250 broken. My cell phone and Glock were nowhere to be found. I am sick and mad as the dickens right now!

Constable just left and he is not happy about this either. He said I10 has been really bad lately and especially the movie theater.

Wow man that sucks. Sorry to hear that. Hope the insurance will cover it for ya. But more so than that I hope it can be recovered.
Was it locked up in anything? Only reason I ask is so that other's might have the same set up and might want o look into something else to keep this from happening again.
Just out of curiosity....Was the Theater 30.06?

TXGLOCK23,
I was not sure to post because I feel sick this happened to you and it could have just as easily been me.
I just bought a Handgun Storage Safe for my truck today to at least slow the BG down a little.
Did they have surveillance in the parking lot? Any chance of recovery of the CCW? Also, your homeowner insurance should cover a portion of the cost of the gun
I urge all to take out a scheduled policy that will cover your firearms for around 50/year per 1000.00 without a deductible.
Feel free to PM me if you need help with any insurance issues

If I have to leave a firearm in a vehicle because I can't take it into a posted or otherwise off limits location, I always take the magazine with me. If the firearm is stolen out of my vehicle, at least the thief won't be able to use it RIGHT NOW.

I'm going to make a 1/4" steel Safe that BOLTS to the Rear Seats of my Pickup so that if I have to leave gun in truck I will lock it up and pretty much a thief would need to carry a TORCH to get it out LOL.

TXGLOCK23, you have my sympathy. If you are a member of the NRA, you're automatically covered for theft of a firearm up to $1,000.

2 words. GUN SAFE. Why would anyone leave a gun just unsecured inside a vehicle.

Out of curiosity...Is this theater posted in compliance with 30.06 or was it your choice to leave it in the truck? Not digging at you, I realize there are times that we go places while we are out and about only to realize we can't legally carry on the premises.
Unfortunately your chances of recovering the gun are slim unless you just get lucky when some idiot is arrested with it in his vehicle or on his person. As other's have said, a securely mounted, in-vehicle vault is probably the best thing you could do in the future outside of keeping the gun on your person if at all possible. I do understand your pain and frustration. My home was burgled last year while I was on vacation. Unfortunately, one shotgun hadn't been put into the safe and the thieves found it along with three notebook PC's, most of my wife's jewelry, all my DVD collection and some other electronics.
Now, if you grew up in my neighborhood, you'd thoroughly understand my signature line when I tell you I at least got some frustrations out asking a known burglar/crackhead about my stuff. He lived around the corner from me until about a week after my burglary. Some guys in blue helped him move to 1200 Baker Street in Downtown Houston and he has not been seen since. He gave me good info and arrests were made but none of my stuff ever came back because it had all been sold by the time the guilty parties were dealt with. They all live at 701 San Jacinto Street now because some them had been on a waiting list to get into that place for a while.

That is one reason why I don't patronize posted businesses.

Geez that really burns me. Sorry man!
I just went to the movies Saturday night. Regal Cinemas in San Antonio. I had my CCW. Noticed on front door (not 30.06) that carrying of firearms or concealed firearms not allowed. I have a CHL...nothing said about "Licensed" citizens! Watched my movie and went home.

I guess you now know F250s are easily entered. We had a rash of them at Gun Shows in DFW area. Only the F250s were robbed. Don't ever leave anything of value in an F250, anyone can get it.

I carried in there not too long ago, but looked for a 30.06 before going in. It was my first time carrying there so I think I would have looked carefully enough to see the signage.
Now I'm curious if I missed it. I specifically push the wife to go there instead of Katy Mills Mall theater since they are posted 30.06. I try to stay away from the place in general excepting Bass Pro Shop.
Sorry for your loss, I'm sure it's really infuriating.
