Actually, the bad guy had a knife and a screwdriver. At first I thought her weapon misfired but looks like attacker kept slide from recycling. This after she already had fired multiple times and hit the bad guy as he aggressively approached her and refused her commands. Deputy used her weak hand to keep him at bay as she was backing away to give her time to clear the weapon and stop the threat. Training kicked in and she was able to stop the threat.
Great work by the deputy sheriff!

The deputy had been pursuing Ruis after he allegedly stabbed a 77-year-old man from Lansing inside a Dimondale Quality Dairy store earlier Tuesday morning.
The video then shows the deputy firing several rounds at Ruis when he fails to comply and makes an aggressive motion toward her. He then drops to the ground.
