A 10-year-old Florida girl was beginning her first day of online school when her mother was shot to death by her ex-boyfriend at their home, investigators said Tuesday.

Donald Williams, 27, shot and killed 32-year-old Maribel Rosado Morales in front of her four children and their two cousins at her Indiantown home, Martin County Sheriff William Snyder told reporters at a press conference, which was recorded by WPEC-TV.

Even though this was at home, since it occurred during online class time...does this count as a school shooting? Because I believe some intellectually dishonest folks WILL count it as such.

More unnecessary and preventable tragedy. And you're 100% correct; I'll bet a 10-spot this is counted as school shooting.

And I'll also bet that, in the near future, someone screams about renaming Indiantown, Martin County, Florida.

Well, since school resource officers were sent to a home because rifles could be seen in the background of a student's video, I would think it will be.

Is it me, or does it seem like certain communities are more prone to violence than others? And if so, then why?

I believe the issue in the Black community all goes back to family values. Or the lack of them. Gangs have replaced the family structure. There is a reason the vast majority of gang members are black. "Respect" is everything in gang culture and their definition of respect is completely twisted. I realize it is not PC to bring up the obvious but I have never been accused of being woke.

Thomas Sowell (or more accurately his research assistants) tracked much of the Honor Cultures in U.S. to early settlers from certain parts of Britain & Scotland, AND from certain time periods. He poses that the rampant violence & 'honor culture' in areas like Chicago are due to migration of groups of southerners to northern urban areas post civil war (whites as well as freed slaves), taking the behavior & speech patterns that had been assimilated from the earliest southern settlers.

And by the way, Thomas Sowell is a black man who uses lots of data to back up his conclusions. He's been called lots of names over the past 40 years by those who are 'woke'; especially when he asks them to produce "evidence" to back up their assertions, rather than circular logic.
