Pistol for the wife?

Maybe a dumb question but is there a pistol in 9mm that's easier to shoot than my Glock 19 and concealable?
My wife decided she wants to carry. She currently has a bersa thunder 380 that she qualified with and we also have been to the range with it to practice. She didn't want to shoot my Glock because her bersa was easier to shoot. The problem is I never expected her to want to shoot very much and I didn't stock up on 380. I was thinking there might be a better weapon in 9mm I could get so we can get some range time in. What do you guys think? I don't have a lot of experience with different types of guns since I chose a Glock from the get go and have only really used that for the most part.

The Springfield XD-S is easy to shoot.

It comes in 9mm and .45 ACP.

It is single stack and easy to conceal as well.

For a practice pistol and easy on the wallet. My wife likes shooting her 22LR pistol. She will put down 5 rounds at 60' on 5; 8" plates in 6 seconds. After that she works with either her Springfiled XDM 9mm or Springfield XD subcompact in 9mm.

Depending on what it is about the 19 that makes it "hard" for her to shoot, there are now Glock single stack 9mm pistols.

Also check out the Kahr single stack 9mms. They are single stacks, very trim and compact, and Glock-like in their simplicity. The P series have polymer lowers, the K series are all steel. If recoil is what's bothering her on the Glock 19, try a K-series, all steel (like a Bersa) 9mm like the K9. The steel will be heavier than the polymer, but this will help with tamping down recoil.

Smith and Wesson makes the Shield EZ in 9mm.

:iagree: That is what I recommend to a lot of my "older" female students. Either that or the .380 EZ.

My wife carries the .380EZ.

As mentioned, the Shield EZ in 9mm is a great choice. If she likes the Glocks there is also the 43X and 48, both in-between the single stacks and G19 in size. Good luck finding either though.

I second the 43x or 48 glocks. Also the EZ shields or regular shields make fine carry guns.

also on the glock 43x now has red dot mounting and the Shield S15 mags. that gives you a pistol the is 1 inch wide at most with 15 rd mags and a red dot.

This is my choice as well. My wife can handle this one well and the EZ-rack slide and magazine assist are easy for her to manipulate.

My wife has the Shield EZ 380, she likes it. The EZ 9mm might also be a good choice.
