Need a new gun belt

Howdy all, just posted on holsters, so figured I'd go ahead and ask for your wise experience about gun belts. I've had a couple of cheapies that generally fail pretty quickly. I'm a less than slim guy, so generally pocket carry in my big loose cargo pants, but have been losing a bunch of weight lately so looking to start add back belt IWB/OWB carry.

SO, would really appreciate your experience with the gun belts that you have used, and how they've worked out.

Thanks so much for your guidance, and, since the election is still on a razor's edge; MAGA!!!

+1 on the Kore essential. I was hesitant about the ratcheting design, thinking it may not hold up, but I have been pleasantly surprised. I have the tan nylon, that I carry my CZ SP-01 and two 18 round mags. The belt is amazing, I don't even notice the weight, and it never tries to sag, or twist.

Relentless tactical steel core belt and an Uncle Mike's instructor belt if I'm getting sweaty.

There are lots of great quality belt makers out there. If you are buying a holster from a particular maker, it's nice to have their belt as well for a matched set. You mentioned not being a small guy- so my advice here is threefold if you want leather:
1. horsehide over leather (for better wear, moisture and scuff resistance)
2. double stitched over single
3. reinforced over non

Ones I've used and can highly recommend include:
1. A better Belt USA (belts only)
2. Beltman (belts only)
3. AG Gunleather (belts only)

Universally loved and would get, if you get a holster from them: Tucker, SParks, etc.

If you want nylon, go right to the best of the nylon belts:
Ares Gear, Aegis belts (or Aegis Enhanced for the reinforced version)

I like wilderness tactical, if leather than Aker makes a good belt for the money.

I have a couple of Wilderness Tactical Instructor Belts as well as SOE Gear belts. SOE is a PITA to deal with though and the owner can be an ass, but solid product. I have a couple of Magpul leather and a limited shark skin belts that I wear when I have to dress up. Excellent quality. I'll have to check out the Kore belts.

Add another vote for Core Essentials. It has held up really well, even when I have to carry a full belt for church security.

Not really sure exactly what kind of belt you're looking for, but I use real leather from Simply Rugged Holsters. Hand-made out of bullhide, they are tough and they last.

:iagree:

I have a reinforced horsehide belt from AG Custom Gunleather. I have worn it everyday for the last 5 years whether I was carrying or not due to work. I have been carrying every day for the last 18 months because I can with my current job. When the time comes, I will be getting another one from them.

Chris, does the buckle from the original Kore fit the Tactical? The inner reinforcing on my original leather Kore broke in 3 places after 2 years. I'd like to use the buckle from the original and just by a bare Tactical.

My favorites that I’ve worn:

For nylon “tactical” types with infinite adjustment:

Volund Gearworks G-Hook
Liberty Belts
Klik Belts

For leather:

Beltman 1.5” double-stitched, 7 holes 3/4” apart
Mean Gene Leather double-stitched (1/4” thick and may not fit some holster slots but should last a long time)
