Re: Another special session?
Unless I’m misreading him, we’re going to be called back in. There are certain items on this call that he shared with me that are a must pass. http://blog.chron.com/texaspolitics/2013/06/dewhurst-second-special-session-likley-unless-certain-items-pass/ I wonder if SB23, the Teen Capital Murder Bill...

Re: Another special session?
What do you think? If Wendy Davis is successful today, will Perry call another special session and maybe give us one more bite at the apple? As an old tank commander, I don't give up until the .50 won't bark any more. Let us not forget that a successful filibuster will also kill SJR 2 funding state...

Re: 30.06 at Gun Shows
If the city owns the property, it doesn't matter who leases / rents it. It is city owned property, and the law says the sign is not enforceable. Now, if you're at a gun show and carrying concealed, and then take your concealed firearm out to try on a holster, you are in public, and that is an inten...

Re: Letter to Governor Rick Perry
Historically Texas was a Democratic state. It was a Democratic state in my lifetime and will be so again. Historically the Second Amendment was not the purview of a specific party. None of the Bill of Rights were. To reduce it to a party specific concept makes it vulnerable. Between immigration fro...

Re: IRS Agents ‘Accidentally’ Discharged Guns 11 Times
The bigger question for me is WHY does a tax collector need a gun???? I understand search warrants, but there are law enforcement agencies equipped to handle that task. My question is when will they have SWAT teams and armored vehicles? The IRS is dangerous enough with pencils. OBTW, they are law e...

Re: Slaton police arrest woman after request to see warrant
Its the militarization of the police. In my youth SWAT teams weren't used for arrests. They didn't even have SWAT teams. Police looked like police not military in different uniforms. There wasn't the kick type search and arrests, or at least if there were, it was only for really bad criminals. I do...

Re: Chicago med school to admit undocumented students
Loyola University Chicago is accepting applications from students rarely found in medical school: undocumented immigrants. (Andy's note: you mean "Illegal Aliens") The university's Stritch School of Medicine not only intends to waive legal residency as an admissions requirement for applic...

Re: Obama say religious schools divisive
A Catholic school will teach that Catholicism is good. A Protestant school will teach that Protestantism is good. A Baptist school will teach that Baptism is good. A home school will teach that home is good. A government school will teach that government is good. What was the question? :leaving Gre...

Re: Special Session -- 2013
are we sure there will only be one Special Session? have they completed everything needed for Redistricting? Budget? Education? anything else they can deem absolutely ness? I suggest we watch what is being done regarding 17 yr old murderers. There is a big hole on the punishment side. Some of the p...

Re: Letter to Governor Rick Perry
Why do you think the Republican Party cares one whit? Parties only care about votes and power. To believe otherwise is not strategically prudent. I agree completely. There are hard core 2A positions on each side of the ledger. However these are the minority in both parties. The largest number in bo...

Re: TSA at Amtrak Austin
I know it is a fine line but isn't this a violation of the 4th, especially since they had "drug" sniffing dogs? exactly If I remember correctly, SCOTUS rules that the dog is ok as long as its not a "knock and talk" at your front door. At the Amtrak station, Mr. Nose can smell al...

If that happened to me, I'd be filing a complaint immediately with a copy of the caselaw on the issue.

CHL-6
From the posting yesterday on the DPS website, it looks like a CHL-6 is no longer required for Texas residents.
