Re: Pistol mounted optics questions

Well, I've taken all the advice I saw here, and it did help me with my decisions.
Here's what I ended up getting for my new EDC:
  • Walther PDP Full Size with a 5-inch slide + four 18-round mags
  • Holosun 507C with 2 MOA red dot + a 32 MOA ring reticle
  • Crossbreed Founder's series IWB holster

So far, I love the setup. It's easy for me to carry, and very easy to find my reticle quickly when presenting the firearm.
I'm searching for a good leather OWB holster with snap loops for easy on-off of the belt, similar to the holsters that RD Warren used to make (see photo below) - but I've not found that just yet.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and comments. Y'all helped a lot!

Pistol mounted optics questions

John Correia says if you're still shooting iron sights in 2023 then you're "Gun Amish".

So I'm planning to get some handgun optics for my EDC, and I welcome the insights of y'all who've already gone down this path. As I get older, I'm having a harder time seeing my front sight, and my progressive lens bifocals force me to tilt up and look out the bottom of the glasses every time I shoot.
Yes, I know I can get glasses that have the focal point in the right spot - but in the army we learned to 'train the way you fight'. If I ain't gonna be wearing them in every day wear, then I'm not gonna be wearing them when I need them.

First question: do you recommend red dots or green dots?
Second question: are there any features that yours has that you like (or features that you wish you'd gotten on it)?
