Cabela's was the second store I tried. I was shocked that they had almost nothing in the way of the single action replicas. I do plan to order a black powder revolver in the next month or two from them. Essentially everything I've bought in the last few years has been C&R stuff using my 03 FFL, so I haven't had reason to visit a gun store, other than for some of of my ammo.
I'm kind of nervous now. Bud's Gun Shop has a LOT of bad reviews. They are the kind of seller that if you leave them negative feedback on gunbroker, they will retaliate with nasty, very unprofessional stuff against the buyer. Even if I don't have any issues, I think I'm going to shy away from Bud's from here on out.

Re: Are SA revolvers really that difficult to find?
Buds is exactly where I ordered from.
The last few days have completely turned me off from the local shops. I've purchased online quite a bit, but I have always tried to buy locally when I could. There are simply no good places around here.

Re: Are SA revolvers really that difficult to find?
I saw a handful of Rugers today, but most of them were .22s. I wanted one of the Uberti imports. One store I went to was on the Uberti site for being a huge stocking dealer...nope, they didn't have anything. One dealer could have talked me into buying the only open top '72 I found, but they didn't seem too interested in selling anything. I just bought one from an online retailer out of state, so now it's a waiting game.

Are SA revolvers really that difficult to find?
I have been to seven local gun stores, and one large gun show. I absolutely cannot find the 5.5" barrel 357 magnum SAA style revolver I'm looking for. Despite the gun shops not having much interest in actually selling a gun, and the gun show being 20% guns to 80% accessories/junk, I can't believe no one carries these. If I wanted a Glock or an AR-15, I'd have absolutely no problem picking the perfect one from the over abundance. I think I'm going strictly online retail only from here on out. I can't wait until January when I'm going to start hunting down a good flintlock rifle. I'll probably find Waldo before I find one of those.
