Re: Another Meme Thread
I never understood using "Front". You know some Dim Bulb is gonna ask which side is the front. "This Side" would be clearer. No? :confused5
Maybe because it's two sentences? -- Front. Toward enemy. And the instructions say to point the front of the mine towards the enemy. So they h...

Question on traveling on AA with ammo in the suitcase

I have traveled many times on America Airlines in / out of DFW with rifles and pistols in Pelican cases and am familiar with the process. I may need to travel with a small amount of ammo in the near future. How is the checkin / baggage process similar or different from firearms? Obviously it goes in...

Having your permit on your person?

I have a question about carrying the permit while carrying concealed. When I'm at stores or other locations, I have my wallet in my pocket and, as a result, my permit is "on my person." I'm thinking of carrying concealed at church but I *never* have my wallet on me. it's always locked in the car bec...

Re: Integrally suppressed 9mm pistol

For those of us who own SiCo products or follow them at least, this is not new news. SiCo has been showing this off for the past 18 moths or so as they have been developing it into the prototype stages. Started in FL where they were shooting suppressed weapons off boats then it's been in almost all ...

Re: Do you wear gloves when cleaning your guns?

I do. I like the vinyl gloves from Harbor Freight. Similar to the gloves you see worn in food services. After a while, the finger tips get stiff from the Hoppes but unless I snag them on something sharp, they don't cut or break like the med type gloves, in my experience.

Is there a NV CHL forum like this?

This site has been invaluable to be as I started to get and enjoy my CHL. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a NV forum like this? I did a Google search but didn't find anything. Are there similar forums for other states?

Thanks

Re: What / How is background check conducted?

I assumed they were computer records but *what* records? Is it just state? Federal? what type of records? Criminal? Civil? etc. etc.

Thanks

What / How is background check conducted?

I'm patiently (well, not really) waiting for my CHL to come in. Submitted near the end of January so I probably have another week or two based on what other people are reporting for processing times. Currently my application is in "background check: under review." What exactly does that mean? Yes, t...

Travel case to take on a plane

I did a quick search and didn't see anything on this . . . . but I could have missed it so apologies in advance. It looks like I will need to fly and take my Springfield XD service and XDs with extra magazines. What type of rigid case would your recommend? I stopped by Cabxyz and they have Pelican a...

Re: Potential ID theft from gun purchase docs?

I would like to point out that the SSN # is optional. Thanks for the feedback. I was well aware the SSN was optional, however I have a "unique" last name that is commonly used in examples / tests as a generic last name. I have been caught by this several times in other cases where pre-existing bogu...

Potential ID theft from gun purchase docs?

My CHL is in the works (status finally got updated) so until now I've been filling out the usual paper forms (or electronic at Cabelas) when purchasing a weapon. It occurred to me that this paperwork could be a potential source for ID theft since it has a lot of personal information like birth place...

Okay to store ammo in garage in "temperate" Texas?

I was wondering if it was okay to store ammo (handgun and 223) in army surplus metal ammo cans in the garage? Spring is coming then summer with the wonderful summer heat. My garage is on the west side of the house and will get full afternoon sun. I do not have any dehydrator packages or what ever yo...
